Responsibilities
Accounting, audit and financial oversight
The auditor-controller maintains county accounts, administers payroll and property-tax allocations, and examines internal controls. Audits and public financial reports help residents follow county spending.
Committee roles vary: the auditor chairs the Audit Committee, is a member of the debt and pension committees, and provides staff support to the separate Countywide Oversight Board.
