Responsibilities
Prosecution and victim services
The district attorney prosecutes criminal cases on behalf of the people and provides services for victims. Charging decisions are separate from the Board of Supervisors’ county budget responsibilities.
The office also participates in corrections and juvenile-justice planning. Committee decisions shown here concern those public bodies, not the outcomes of individual criminal cases.
